If possible, we recommend staying in the same apartment after submitting the residence permit application and waiting for an appointment. After moving to a new apartment, you will have to register at the the new place and provide the immigration office with the up to date registration confirmation.

Please be advised that if you move to a different city or area (’Landkreis’), this may also mean that the immigration office responsible for you changes. In that case, the residence permit application would have to be transferred to the new immigration office which usually results in longer waiting times for an appointment.
