Regulated professions by law require a certain qualification in order to be allowed to practice them. This usually applies to professions in the health, safety, and social services sectors, as well as teachers. There are also protected job titles, e.g. for Engineers.

This means that if you have obtained a qualification for these jobs in another country, it will first have to be recognized in Germany in order for you to be legally allowed to practice them. Please find more in formation on the recognition process here.
