In order to do your registration (and to receive the tax ID and open your bank account afterwards), you will need to provide the landlord confirmation ('Wohnungsgeberbestätigung'). It is a specific document (different from the rental agreement) to be signed by your landlord and you will usually receive it upon your move-in.
