A student permit usually allows employment not exceeding a total of 120 days or 240 half days per year, as well as to pursue secondary student activities (=”studentische Nebentätigkeiten” at the university that do not count into the 120/240 days). You are solely responsible to know how many of your permitted work days you have already used up during the year. Every day that you have worked more than 4 hours counts as a full day, everything equal to or below 4 hours counts as a half day. Sick days or vacation days do not count here. So as long as you stay within those 120/240 days, you could already pick up employment until you have completed your degree/studies
