Many German Embassies/Consulates are working with a third-party provider for visa application submissions. Instead of submitting an application at the embassy directly, you will have to book an appointment with the third-party provider operating in your country of residency and submit your application there.

You can visit VFSglobal to book an appointment for your visa application.

First, you select your country of residency and then the destination country Germany.

This will lead you to the next page, where you can choose "book an appointment" to start the booking process.

You will be asked to log in or create an account at VFS in order to proceed with the booking. Please do so and save your login details so you can access your VFS account anytime.

After successful login, you will be asked to choose the VFS visa center. Depending on your country of residency there might be more than one VFS visa center. Please choose the one closest to you. You also need to select your visa category. Depending on the type of visa that you are eligible for, you can choose a National visa D - blue card, or employment visa, or an IT specialist. Please ask your case manager for advice in case you are not sure.

It is important to book the correct application category as otherwise the application might not be accepted and you would need to rebook the appointment.

Afterward, you are asked to complete a set of questions, which overall are questions on your personal details and background. Make sure you have your passport close to you as you will have to write your passport number among others.

After you continue to the next page, you will be presented with a calendar that lets you select an appointment date. In case there is no date available you can choose the option to be contacted by VFS once an appointment becomes available.

Afterward, you will be asked to complete the videx application form first. Please fill it out. You can upload it to your Localyze profile so your case manager can review it.

It is also possible to select "I have completed by Videx form" in order to proceed with the appointment booking and fill out the form later.

Afterward, you will be asked to create an account. Having filled out the registration information, you will receive an activation link via email.

Click on the activation link to proceed.

You will be able to log in now and start your application. Once you have done so, you will find a button "create an application". Click here to start the application process on the website.

You will be asked to select the visa type and add your personal information. Depending on the type of visa that you are eligible for, you can choose a National visa D - blue card, or employment visa, or an IT specialist. Please ask your case manager for advice in case you are not sure.

Once you have filled out all mandatory information, the application will be saved in the system. Please click "done" to proceed.

In case family members are traveling with you, you need to add them to the application. You can do so in the following step.

Please select "add an applicant" and fill out the mandatory information for each family member. Once completed click "confirm" to save the application. Your application is now saved in the system. You will find a list of the required documents based on the type of visa you have chosen during your application.

Below you will find the schedule showing the available appointments. You can now select a date and time for the visa application submission.

Once selected you press "confirm" to book the appointment. The appointment will then be registered and saved in the system. You will receive an appointment confirmation email. Please print the confirmation and take it to your appointment.

You select "book an appointment"

and then "appointment booking for national visa". You are then asked to choose the visa category. Please choose the correct category, e.g. Blue Card and the city in which you are residing.

You will then be asked a couple of questions in order to validate if you are indeed eligible for the chosen category. Once confirmed you will be asked to fill out some personal information and finally book the appointment.

Once you have booked an appointment you will be asked to pay the booking fee. You will receive an appointment confirmation via email. Please print it and bring it to your appointment.

Note: you may not be able to find an appointment slot right away. In this case, you can check frequently the website in order to encounter a free slot.
