Once you arrive in the Netherlands, and upon completion of your biometrics appointment, if applicable, you will need to wait for a letter from the IND. This letter will confirm your residence document, a physical card, is ready for pick-up. The letter will confirm the place of collection and is required to schedule the pick-up appointment. The IND aims to have your residence document ready within two weeks following your arrival in the Netherlands.

Once you (or your employer) have received the letter, you or your case manager can make an online appointment at the designated IND desk. Please keep in mind it is not always possible to visit an IND desk at short notice. Therefore, please schedule an appointment in good time and try to maintain a flexible schedule.

You need to collect your residence document within 90 days after your arrival in the Netherlands, meaning before the expiration of your MVV. If you have entered the country without an entry visa, you need the permit in order to start working.
