The relevant visa categories for you will be linked to long-term stays and are therefore all covered under the umbrella "National visa". Those visa actually only service the purpose of entering Spain, all the rest is already decided upon before by means of the formerly filed authorisations of residence and work (also called work permit/residence permit and in Spanish: permiso de residencia y trabajo)). Your national visa will therefore be issued according to the formerly received authorisation that Localyze helped you organising. Without the authorisation/permit neither you, nor your family members, can attend the visa appointments. The most frequent National (=long-term) Visa categories are:

  • VISADO DE RESIDENCIA Y TRABAJO (RESIDENCE AND WORK VISA): This is the most frequently used visa category for employees in Spain.

    • The requirements depend on the work permit that we have filed (usually you will see that on your permit application we have either applied for Ley 14/2013 or for the LO 4/2000).

  • VISADO REAGRUPACION FAMILIAR (FAMILY REUNION VISA): this is the visa category that needs to be chosen once we have obtained the permit for your family members.

    • Main requirement: (Civil) Marriage or Proof of Registered Partnership with work permit holder

  • VISADO DE RESIDENCIA DE FAMILIAR DE CIUDADANO DE LA UE (FAMILY REUNION VISA WITH EU CITIZEN): this is the visa that needs to be applied for if you are a third country national (outside of the EU) and your partner is a EU national

    • Main requirement: (Civil) Marriage with EU National

  • VISADO DE RESIDENCIA Y DE RESIDENCIA NO LUCRATIVA (NON LUCRATIVE VISA FOR RESIDENCE ONLY)

    • Main requirement: Proof of sufficient financial means to be able to live in Spain for a period of 1 year.

  • VISADOS DE ESTUDIOS (STUDENT VISA):

    • Criminal background check.

    • Copy of your complete passport.

    • Proof that your educational fees have been paid.

    • Proof that you have the financial means to support yourself while studying in Spain.

    • Proof that you have adequate health insurance in Spain.

    • Contact information for the place where you will be living while in the country.
